Defective from factory

GE really dropped the ball on this $750 dryer. Upon initial start up after delivery, the dryer made extremely loud noises. It turned out the unit needed a whole new motor assembly which included the right and left idler arm assemblies. Terrible quality control check at the factory. I will definitely think twice about purchasing another GE profile appliance in the future. Once the part was replaced, dryer is running good.

Well considering I had to place a service call about a week after delivery it seems to work ok. It was just operating noisily and some parts need replacing. I guess the robot was sleeping on the job when this one was coming down the line. The repair person said this was the 3rd call on a GE dryer that they had calls on. The noisy parts don't affect the dryer, so it is still usable. I am hoping this is not a sign of things to come. I have found that some of the cycles do not dry the clothes completely, but honestly I think every dryer can have that issue.

Beyond Frustrated

Dryer was delivered from a local appliance store along with its washing machine partner on 6/2/26. On 6/11/26, only the third time using the dryer, it stopped mid cycle and wouldn™™t restart. The load in the dryer was not large whatsoever. The display lights up, you can select any cycle you want, the dryer will allow you to press start and will count down, but the drum will not engage or spin. I™™m assuming the belt is off or frayed. Earliest a technician can come out from the local appliance store is 3 weeks from now, and I™™m afraid of voiding the warranty or being blamed for damage if I open it up myself and try to fix it.

I haven™™t had the dryer long but love it so far. It was an upgrade from a 30 year old set from Kenmore which was still going strong until an unplanned flooding event. The GE has been great! The load capacity is much larger than my old units and it seems far more efficient. The dryer is super quiet and the steam option is great.

Problem

It has a problem drying the washing machine.. The problem is that when I take the washing machine out, it starts to rock violently from side to side. I've already aligned and balanced it, but the problem persists. I've also tried small and large loads, and the problem remains.

New dryer first time turner made a clicking noise on ever evolution. The service tech had to replace 4 parts in order to repair the dryer. Once repaired ( required , 2 service visits) works very well.

Bought this dryer and washer from Costco and almost immediately had issues. installation was done by their installer/delivery company and they obviously rushed it as the dryer connection came loose within 1 day. For the most part that is no problem, for a disabled person it rendered the dryer unusable. Then the washer was also not tight enough and the laundry room flooded. To top all this off the dryer does NOT dry clothes. The sensor settings must be off because when it says they are dry that is absolutely false. Why is it that after almost 50 years manufacturers cant seem to come up with a quicker and more effective mtod of running the vent hose from the dryer? Man on the MOON, but cant connect a hose properly. They both have a decent capacity, but the washer becomes off balanced with towels only in the drum and the dryer will NOT dry clothes unless you run it only on timed dry and set it to incinerate. Having an app that tells you when it switches cycles is interesting, but only if the machines actually worked.
